In addition to our weekly Kabbalat Shabbat, Shabbat Day davening and Havdallah, we invite you to join with us for our unique celebrations throughout the Jewish calendar.
Our musical Hallels during Chol Hamoed, the intermediary days of Sukkot, HashanaRaba, and Pesach draw hundreds of people from the world over. They are especially magical and memorable as our prayers soar on the wings of joyous song, guitars, trumpets, violins and drums. This, thanks to the scores of musicians who come to Tzfat specifically to participate with us.In fact, busloads of Beirav devotees come from far and near to join in these uplifting tefilot. We liken these events to the recreation, on a small scale, of the Levites singing their Psalms with musical accompaniment as the People of Israel ascended to the Temple to offer their homage during these Festivals.
Several times a year, we celebrate a weekday Rosh Chodesh with this type of Hallel with musical accompaniment.Shacharit begins at 7:30 a.m., with Hallel at approximately 8:15am.Rosh Chodesh Elul is an especially popular event. Please check the synagogue schedule for dates and times.
Many of these special Hallel services have been recorded on video CD’s and videocassette and are available for purchase. To add your name to our email mailings or to receive information on upcoming events, please go to our 'Contact Us' page. For further information contact us directly at (04) 692-1849.

If you have ever been to the Klezmer Festival in Tzfat, you know it's the Jewish answer to music festivals. However, at Beirav, this three-day event is an occasion for special morning davening at the synagogue. Each evening, the synagogueis host to many hundreds of guests seeking quiet niggunim, “Shlomo stories” and superb guest musicians who perform Carlebach music to the wee hours of the morning. The Beirav Synagogue, as an important player in this Festival, has been granted by the TzfatMunicipality use of the Gan Ha-Ir, a large city park close to the synagogue and the OldCity as its stage during the Festival. Here, the park serves as a peaceful oasis, away from and set apart from the other stages of the music offered.
The dates of the Klezmer Festival for 2009 have been posted as August 10, 11, and 12th.Mark you calendars and make your reservations.
